Alcohol and Development highlights the alcohol harm paradox and incorporates a brief overview of the findings from the latest research on alcohol and its health and social impact. It revisits the prevention triangle which emphasizes regulation, mobilization, and education. It provides a snapshot of the global alcohol policy context and adopts a framework to analyze alcohol industry activities and how they exercise their power to influence public health policy. Moreover, it offers guidelines for civil society organizations working on preventing alcohol harm and promoting evidence-based alcohol policies. Last but not the least, it highlights case studies featuring lessons in civil society action from FORUT partners.
