Addressing Harmful Alcohol Use to Reduce Intimate Partner Violence and Violence against Children in the Home

Alcohol and drugs, Report

In an evidence review, the Prevention Collaborative emphasise that alcohol is a globally consistent risk factor for intimate partner violence and violence against children. It also identifies the role of the alcohol industry in shifting the focus from structural, population-level interventions to individual behaviour change. The review highlights that not addressing harmful alcohol use is a missed opportunity to reduce violence in the home.
