In this policy position, FORUT raises concerns about the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and stresses the need to include NCDs in the development agenda. FORUT highlights the need to support low—and middle-income countries and protect public health policies from vested interests. The policy position also emphasises mental health as an NCD and alcohol as a shared risk factor across all NCDs.
