This year, FORUT launched the Civil Society Impact Series to feature articles from FORUT’s partners.
These articles focus on civil society interventions and projects, particularly featuring the results and lessons learned from their implementation. The first two articles in the series can now be accessed on FORUT’s Resources page.

This article focuses on the interventions of APSA, particularly Project Soukhya, to reduce alcohol-related domestic violence and the lessons learned from these interventions.
APSA – the Association for Promoting Social Action – is a non-governmental organization that has been working in over 80 urban slum communities for the past 40 years in the cities of Bengaluru (Bangalore) and Hyderabad in the states of Karnataka and Telangana, respectively.

In this article, the Foundation for Innovative Social Development (FISD), a non-governmental organisation working to create an alcohol- and drug-free society in Sri Lanka, shares the lived experiences of young people as agents of change through its ‘A World filled with Happiness’ workbook programs in the Monaragala and Hambantota districts from 2019 to 2023.
