UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) has combined efforts with the Concerned for the Working Children (CWC), one of the FORUT partner organizations in India, for a study to strengthen regional understanding of adolescent participation in governance spaces in India, Nepal and Bhutan.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the study “Claiming Citizenship – Case Studies of adolescents Participating in Governance in South Asia” in March 2022.
Two of the study cases are set in India, one in Madhya Pradesh that entails practices of child protection and social policy interventions from a rural governance perspective. Children’s right to participation is one of the core components of this initiative since inception.
The second case in Maharashtra looks directly into children’s participation in child-friendly local governance and its transformative impact on inclusive and responsive planning.
With this, FORUT would like to congratulate The Concerned for the Working Children for its immeasurable efforts on the children’s rights agenda in India and across borders.
